LE Wales undertook a review of the police funding formula for South Wales Police. The Home Office uses the formula to allocate funds to each of the police forces across England and Wales on the basis of need. LE Wales reviewed the construction of the formula and its application to South Wales Police and advised SWP on the aspects of the formula that could be improved and advised on which issues not addressed by the formula should be considered further.
